UroVysion Bladder Cancer FISH FISH

Cytogenetic studies reveal frequent alterations of a variety of chromosomes associated with bladder carcinoma including chromosomes 1, 3, ,5, 7, 9, 10, 17, and others. The UroVysion Bladder Cancer Kit (UroVysion Kit) is designed to detect aneuploidy for chromosomes 3, 7, 17, and loss of the 9p21 locus via fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) in urine specimens from persons with hematuria suspected of having bladder cancer. Results from the UroVysion Kit are intended for use, in conjunction with and not in lieu of current standard diagnostic procedures, as an aid for initial diagnosis of bladder carcinoma in patients with hematuria and subsequent monitoring for tumor recurrence in patients previously diagnosed with bladder cancer.

Voided urine mixed 2:1 (v:v) with recommended PreservCyt (Hologic) or NuCyte fixative.

Specimen should be stored and transported refrigerated with a cool pack.

Bladder FISH FISH

Disease: Transitional cell carcinoma of bladder is frequently associated with chromosomal alterations, including chromosomes 1, 3, ,5, 7, 9, 10, 17, and others, which may be detected with high sensitivity and specificity by FISH in exfoliated urothelial cells from urine samples. Results of the test are intended for use, in conjunction with current standard diagnostic procedures such as cystoscopy and urine cytology, as an aid for initial diagnosis of bladder cancer in patients with hematuria and subsequent monitoring for tumor recurrence in patients with a history of bladder cancer.

Probes: CEP3/CEP7/CEP10/5p15.2
