Test Description

The Antibiotic Resistance Gene Panel for urinary tract infections is based on detection of amplification products and the corresponding signal in assays run on OpenArray plates performed on the QuantStudio 12K Flex Real Time PCR System. The assay detects up to 36 genes associated with antimicrobial resistance across 10 drug classes. The assay detects ACC, ACT/MIR, FOX, CTX-M-1, CTX-M-9, CTX-M-8/25, SHV, TEM E102K, TEM R162S, TEM G238S, TEM237K, IMP-1, IMP-2, KPC, NDM, OXA-48, VIM, QnrA, QnrB, QnrS/Qnr-S1, Gyrase A D87N_GTT, Gyrase A S83L_TGG, ErmA, ErmB, ErmC, mecA, TetD, TetM, DFR, SULL, Van A1, VanA2, VanB.

Specimen Requirements

Clean catch urine transferred to a grey top BD Vacutainer Urine C&S tube.

Storage and Transport

Specimens can be shipped and stored at 2 - 30°C. If shipping temperatures exceeding 30°C are anticipated, use cool pack. Viability after transfer to collection/transport tube is:
•Grey top C&S Tube: 7 days
