Test Name: CD27
Methodology: Flow Cytometry
Staining for CD27 detects some normal mature B-cell subsets (germinal center and memory B-cells), plasma cells, T-cells and NK cells. It is most often used in the diagnostic work-up of plasma cell neoplasms, where loss of CD27 expression is a common finding.
Testing for this antigen is typically performed as a part of the plasma cell neoplasm add-on panel. For customized testing panels including this antigen, please contact the Medical Director of the Flow Cytometry laboratory.
Storage and Transport
Maintain specimen at room temperature. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Use cold pack for transport, making sure cold pack is not in direct contact with specimen.
