Test Name: CD64
Methodology: Flow Cytometry
Staining for CD64 detects subsets of normal mature granulocytes and monocytes at all stages of maturation. Increased expression of CD64 on neutrophils correlates with sepsis. CD64 expression is also present in most acute myeloid leukemias and some precursor B lymphoblastic leukemias.
Testing for this antigen is typically performed as a part of acute myeloid leukemia add-on panel. For customized testing panels including this antigen, please contact the Medical Director of the Flow Cytometry laboratory.
Storage and Transport
Maintain specimen at room temperature. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Use cold pack for transport, making sure cold pack is not in direct contact with specimen.
Specimen Rejection Criteria
