•Disease(s):  Myeloid and lymphoid neoplasms associated with eosinophilia
•Probes:
◦FIP1L 4q12, CHIC2 4q12, PDGFRA 4q12 (PDGFRα)
◦PDGFRβ 5q32 (5q33) (PDGFRβ)
◦FGFR1 8p12/D8z2 8p11.-q11.1 (FGFR1)
◦ABL1 9q34/BCR 22q11.2/ASSI 9q34 t(9;22)
◦CBFB 16q22 (CBFB)

◦Probes may be ordered separately.


Specimen Requirements

•Bone Marrow Aspirate: 1-3 mL sodium heparin tube. EDTA tube is acceptable.
•Peripheral Blood: 2-4 mL sodium heparin tube. EDTA tube is acceptable.
•Fresh, Unfixed Tissue: Tissue in RPMI.
•Bone Marrow Core Biopsy: 1-2cm core (length) Tissue in RPMI.
•Fluids: Equal parts RPMI to specimen volume.
•Paraffin Block or Cut Slides: Not available.


Storage and Transport

Use cold pack for transport, making sure cold pack is not in direct contact with specimen.
